It is the mission of Seniority Lifecare to enhance the lives of senior citizens and provide them a feeling of independence and dignity, living in their own homes, by providing home care assistants and personal care assistants.
Clients are carefully assessed by our staff, with the participation of the clients and family, and a plan is formulated to match the specific needs and personalities of the clients. Consideration is given to the client’s financial limitations so we recommend assistance commensurate with their abilities. We also put people in touch with those experts that can help with alternative means of funding. We match caregivers with clients to promote real attachments and friendships. Our caregivers are carefully screened and trained to carry out their various tasks and we place great emphasis on continuing education and development of additional skills.
A home care assistant can provide companionship, cooking, light housekeeping, running errands with and without the clients, transportation to doctors and social engagements, and generally being of whatever help is needed. A personal care assistant does all the above and, additionally, assists in bathing, dressing and grooming. Care can be provided for a few hours a day to 24 hour care, 7 days a week.
Regular reassessments are performed to make sure that the level of care is proper and recommendations for increase or decrease are made to the client. We strive to maintain the balance between sufficient and excessive service.
For those times when a senior is home alone, we offer the SafeSenior program which is an automated wellness and medication reminder program which will call up to 3 times a day for 1 to 7 days per week.
Our staff is available 24 hours a day, 7 days per week to handle emergency needs and assure that our clients are well protected. Dealing with Seniority Lifecare provides more that a caregiver; it provides a caring, dedicated family devoted to keeping seniors safe, secure and independent in their own homes.
We also operate the Adult Day Health Center which is a program that has been in existence in Tuolumne County for over 20 years and has just been taken over by Seniority Lifecare. It is a day program that is provided, at a specifically designed facility, for adults who are limited in their ability to function in their homes. The center provides a wide range of health and social service programs to help participants maximize their independence. It helps adults remain at home, within their community, rather than premature placement in a nursing home.
The specifically designed facility offers a warm and friendly environment; occupational, physical and speech therapy; nursing and personal care; individual and family counseling; activities programs designed to keep participants bodies and minds active and involved; a hot meal at noon and morning and afternoon snacks; transportation to and from the center.
For people who are eligible for Medi-Cal and whose doctors have prescribed ADHC participation, funding for the program is reimbursable. In addition, some private medical insurance companies will pay. Others may participate by paying full or partial fees.
ADHC also operates an Alzheimer’s Day Care Resource Center (ADCRC) which is a special program for participants diagnosed with dementia, primarily in the moderate to severe stages. The ADCRC offers the day care services listed above plus: special activity programs for the confused; community and professional education; respite services for family caregivers; family caregiver support groups and staff and caregiver training. In addition, a family Alzheimer’s support group is offered twice a month.
